WWGRD? He'd not come back to the Penguins apparently. This sad news story broke late last night. Roberts agent says that he would like to continue playing in the NHL, but does not feel he will be back to the Penguins.
Last season Roberts pulled in $2.5 million to be a 4th liner. Thats way too much money. Gary is a great leader for the young team and an energetic player... but the numbers simply aren't there. This will continue to open up cap space for the Pens, despite Marian Hossa deciding to test the free agent market.
But as for now, au revoir Gary.
