Steelers Thoughts 1

Okay... now that you have recovered from passing out.

Ouch. That hurt. What a brutal schedule.

I guess that's what happens when you win the division.

But hey, lets look at it this way. If the Steelers are going to be a great team they are going to have to beat great teams.

If the Steelers can hang around, beat the teams I believe they can beat and upset a couple, they will be right in the hunt. Finishing the season with the Ravens, Titans and Browns isn't an awful finish either.

It should be interesting, thats guaranteed.

My Wish: Ben Roethlisberger


Akeem Havens wish was to play video games with Ben Roethlisberger... and thats exactly what he got. Akeem was paralyzed from the neck down in a car accident when he was 8. He is now 14 and a Steeler fan; his favorite player being Big Ben.

So ESPN teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to send Akeem to the 'Burgh to take a tour of Heinz FIeld and sign Akeem to a rookie contract. Akeem was able to practice with the Steelers and even score a touchdown against the Steelers on a handoff from Ben.

Great.

I love this story and what ESPN has done with this. It's a great opportunity for kids with a grim future to have one fantastic experience in their life. It was great to see the entire Steelers organization, players, coaches and Dan Rooney himself get in on this experience for a young man.

Oh, and Akeem beat Big Ben in video games.
